The best of outlooks among double-deckers
As the upmarket standard the Skyliner gives its passengers the best of outlooks. In its current form the Skyliner, though a pioneer, still proves that it can confidently set the standard for double-decker coaches.

In the view of NEOPLAN, double-decker coaches with a length of just
12 m are not comfortable enough for touring. That’s why we have lengthened the smaller version of the Skyliner to 12.44 m. Although this amounts to just 44 seemingly small centimetres it has a truly miraculous effect on the entire design concept. And as to be expected, the Skyliner L, at 13.79 m in length, provides even more space.
Over the last 40 years the Skyliner has offered again and again the comfort which customers have learnt to expect and enjoy from it.
The NEOPLAN Skyliner is compliant with the Euro-4 emissions standard without AdBlue®.
Design-based use of space
When you board the NEOPLAN Skyliner it feels like being in an elegant bistro. What’s more, the elegant interior design could easily be found in the first class of a passenger jet.
Passengers appreciate the continuous flow of the lines and functional service sets and are amazed at just how much luxury a coach can offer.
The generous use of space and superior comfort ensure that passengers will enjoy their trip to the full. The large expanse of the glass surfaces of the exterior design reflect the high standards of the Skyliners.
Closer to the sky
In the new Skyliner the passenger is that bit closer to the sky – in the truest sense of the word.
As a pioneer among the double-decker coaches, the Skyliner with its sophisticated design and comfort once again proves that NEOPLAN has and retains its exemplary standing.
The upper deck in particular gives the passenger two sources of enjoyment: The far-reaching view outside and the generous feeling of space inside the vehicle. The optimised standing height of 168 cm and the intelligent design of the ceiling with its elegant luggage racks all contribute to this feeling.
Special importance has been attached to greater comfort in the arrangement of the seats too. Consistent optimisation has made the new Skyliner even more generous and elegant. After all, NEOPLAN stands for the ultimate in travel comfort.
Top safety in the Skyliner
Passengers in the Skyliner are guaranteed the highest degree of safety. With its comprehensive safety concept the Skyliner hikes the standard for safety in double-decker coaches one step higher.
The electronically controlled EBS braking system shortens the braking distance and provides for considerably improved braking stability. Beside this the electronic stability programme (ESP) fitted as standard supports the driver in critical situations. If the system recognises a dangerous situation it stabilises the vehicle by efficiently braking individual wheels, and if necessary it reduces the engine torque. An accident-data recorder (UDS) is also available.
The lane guard system (LGS) is also available and effectively prevents the driver from leaving the road because of tiredness or other distractions.
These are just some of the features from the all-round package of active and passive components which protect both the driver and his passengers. The safety in the Skyliner plays a major role in the relaxed travelling atmosphere.
Powerful propulsion is ensured by MAN’s Euro-4 MAN Common-Rail diesel engine: 480 hp with 2,300 Nm.
In both the 12.44 m version and in the 13.79 m version the Skyliner is a surprising and winning double-decker concept - a coach with impressive internal and external qualities.
